Hot Chocolate - I Believe In Love

What a great tune by Hot Chocolate! I love how loud the hi-hats are in the mix. It reminds me of how loud the hi-hats are on the Blond album. I first saw this video courtesy of my friend Jessica. This comes from a series of VHS tapes called Music Unlimited that had all these music promos filmed in the early 70's of artists like The Equals, Tony Hazzard, Emitt Rhodes and The Sweet among others. Anybody know the history of these clips?

This Youtube user offers some clues: http://www.youtube.com/user/WizardODoom

"..."Music Unlimited", a series of music based second-features shown at UK cinemas in the early 1970's."

"This clip was shown in UK cinemas as part of the "Music Unlimited" series, but was apparently shot originally for a UK TV series hosted by DJ Dave Cash."

I remember buying this record in my teens and taking it to a friends house to play to him - and he liked it so much, I never saw the thing EVER AGAIN!

Yes, the hi-hat sure is loud, but sounds very sandpaper-ish, it's not crisp and subtle, but it's what atracted me to buy it in the first place.

Another record I bought & took to a friends house was McLemore avenue the Booker T and the MG's instrumental version of Abbey road - I never ever saw THAT record again either! (lol)
